Electoral Commissioner Simon Sinai assured that the Electoral Commission will make available enough supply of form 70s for LLGs within a district in the respective provinces to ensure no family is left out of the 2024 LLG Roll Updates.
“By now we should know the number of villages and clans in each village which are captured in the survey forms that were distributed earlier, and the number of families in each clan.” He said.
Form70 is a new voter coverage form designed to capture voters in a family order listing for every clan in a village or sections in the urban areas.
Mr. Sinai also noted a concern raised by a councilor from Hela Province in one of the dailies recently, that there was no proper roll update in some parts of Hela Province as there were not enough officers going around collecting the data.
“This is where I am appealing to the ward councilors to assist our field officers who are visiting your area to come forward and identify the clans and families, and ensure everyone turns up on enrollment day and register yourselves.” The Electoral Commissioner said.
Mr. Sinai advised that the enrollment exercise is progressing smoothly elsewhere in the country and expects the roll work to be completed by the end of June.
