New Rainforest Sustainable Initiative To Save PNG Rainforests

Fashion designer, Dame Vivienne Westwood, has officially launched a rainforest sustainability project initiative situated in Milne Bay province.

The project is an initiative by Brothers International Europe in partnership with Cool Earth.

As part of its campaign to eliminate deforestation, Cool Earth with support from Brothers International Europe has initiated this project to help protect rainforest communities in Milne Bay.

With the use of its new initiative the eco reward, the sustainable project will support these communities to protect the 120,000 acres of pristine forest that are believed to be at risk of deforestation.

The initiative has benefitted and so far saved over 1.3 million trees through its free return and recycle scheme used in Europe.

This positive feedback supports and provides hope for the Cool Earth team working on the sustainable project in Papua New Guinea, and is said to have played an important role in making this project a reality in Papua New Guinea.

According to Antony Peart, European Marketing and Communication Manager, Brothers International Europe said “we are delighted to see the Papua New Guinea project come to fruition”.

Apart from helping communities protect their rainforest, the team also have plans to reduce carbon emissions caused by deforestation and to protect the ecosystem.

Matthew Owen, Director at Cool Earth said “this new initiative has been three years in the making and brother has played an absolutely crucial role in making this project a reality”.
