Chief Secretary to the Government, Isaac Lupari, called on members of the diplomatic corp, to maintain a stronger relationship with Papua New Guinea.
On Thursday, December 22, Mr Lupari briefed diplomats about Papua New Guinea’s upcoming events which will need their support.
Two sessions were primarily focused on the 2017 National General Elections and the 2018 APEC Meeting.
The Chief Secretary to the Government, Isaac Lupari, pointed out that initiatives must be carried out in a successful manner. This will advance growth and connecting all Asia-Pacific countries.
While Papua New Guinea is preparing to host the 2018 APEC Meeting, Lupari said that information must be shared for the successful delivery of this important meet.
On APEC, Senior Official and PNG Ambassador, Ivan Pomaleu, highlighted the importance of policy deliverables for the 2018 meeting.
One of them is security, which is the first priority.
He said policy aspects of APEC are crucial element that will bring Papua New Guinea forward.
New Zealand High Commissioner to PNG, Tony Fautua, was satisfied with the outcome of this briefing and Papua New Guinea’s preparations towards these important meetings.
He called for a collaboration among member countries.
