Diggers Taking Lead

This is the second week of the Hebou Shield 2017 Tournament. Yesterday, in the second men’s 3-day series, Diggers got off to a good start, against the Hammers.

Barramundi, Dogodo Bau was the star who blasted a century for the Diggers to set them in the lead with 4 for 280 runs, on stumps. Continuing their good form from last week, the Assad Vala-led side, the Diggers are expected to set a bigger target for the Hammers.

Opting to send the Diggers into batting first was one decision that backfired on the Hammers.

Before they knew it, Dogodo Bau was well on his way to a century.

With 13 boundaries and a six to top it off, Bau secured an unbeaten 115 runs.

Lega Siaka, Tony Ura and Tom Willie together supported Bau with another 165 runs.

Losing only four wickets with Willie Gavera taking three wickets for the Hammers and Vagi Boko also picking up one, the Diggers continued to make their runs count today, at the Amini Cricket Ground.

As of their match last week, the Diggers are currently leading the competition with 17 points while the Hammers are on 7 point.
