Capital Rugby Union Includes U-17 Division in 2021 Season

The Capital Rugby Union in Port Moresby will have an Under-17 Junior boys division taking part in its 2021 Season.

Competition Manager Paul Joseph says this is great for CRU’s competition.

“There’s a lot more talent in this age group that we want to harness and ensure that they know how to play the game,” said Joseph.

He added most of them have been playing in the Under-19 Division in the past seasons and now will have their own division to play under.

While the divisions will have 18-weeks of competition, the Under-17 will have 13 weeks with 9 weeks of round-robin matches and 5 weeks of finals.

“This is only their first season in the competition so we want them to muster up the confidence in playing the game and then we can extend their competition,” says Joseph.

The Season proper is expected to begin on the 13th and 14th March 2021 with a total of 10 Clubs and 27 teams.
