An Update on the Hebou PNG Barramundis in the United Arab Emirates

The Hebou PNG Barramundis went down scrambling in the World Criket League Championship opener match against host United Arab Emirates on Friday by 82 runs.

The UAE opened the first inning, and Alei Nao and Chad Soper started off well, taking out  4 for 149, in just under 38 overs.

UAE responded with a massive 143 runs, in the 12 overs that followed.

By the time the Barras took the bat, they were chasing an accumulative of 292 runs.

Top order batsmen Vani Vagi Morea, Tony Ura, and Lega Siaka were quickly dismissed after chasing down 111 runs.

Sese Bau, Dogodo Bau, and Mahuru Dai’s efforts to recuperate the scoreline went begging.

ODI Debutants Alei Nao and Nosiana Pokana made impressive chases but fell short of overcoming the target when they were all out at just 210 after 47 overs.

A disappointed Coach, Dipak Patel, said their fielding and bowling was not on song in the last 10 overs.

They are currently playing the second WCLC ODI against the host UAE.
