Barras Go Down To Sri Lanka

The China Harbour PNG Barramundi’s went down by 6 wickets to hosts, Sri Lanka Emerging XI yesterday.

Barras had a bad day with the bat as they were bowled out for 138 inside 37 overs.

PNG started off slowly when opening pair Tony Ura (32) and Lega Siaka (15) put on 28 runs for the opening stand before Lega was dismissed LBW.

The Barras struggled to put up the runs despite John Boge, (20) and Norman Vanua’s (10) gallant partnership of 29, under pressure to push the score to 136. Last wicket cost 2 runs and PNG finished at 138.

In reply, the hosts made light work of the target, chasing it down inside 23 overs. Pipi Raho managed to snatch 2 wickets at 29 runs, while Norman Vanua and Charles Amini, picked a wicket each.

Bowling was not at its best, as well as the Barras conceded 21 wide’s in a disappointing display, with bat and ball. The Barras are in their two week tour in Sri Lanka.
