Barras Face Hong Kong In ODI

by Lorraine Genia – EM TV, Port Moresby

Tomorrow, the Hebou PNG Barramundis will become the 23rd country in the world to play a one-day international match.

Given the team’s growing scale of success in the past months, Coach Dipak Patel has confirmed a strong team, with years of experience playing together.

Chris Amini has been given the honour to lead the team, with no real surprise selections made.

Senior and reputable cricketers, Jack Vare-Kevera, Assad Vala, and Norman Vanua who made his break into the Melbourne cricket fraternity were a few of the usual candidates to make the ODI cut.

Former England test cricketer, and current Barras member Geraint Jones believes this is an incredible achievement for Cricket PNG, and this is the pinnacle of countless years of cricket in the country.

The Hebou PNG Barramundis will face Hong Kong at 10am tomorrow morning.

The match will be streamed live on the EM TV website.
