The Bougainville House of Representatives has passed its Supplementary Appropriation Bill last Friday, 21st of October, 2022.
Autonomous Bougainville Government Minister for Finance and Treasury and Member for North Nasioi, Honourable Mathias Salas presented the Bill to the House of Representatives.
This Supplementary Bill was introduced to re-appropriate funds given by the National Government through its supplementary budget.
The One Hundred Million Kina Development Grant for the Autonomous Bougainville Government was slashed to only Fifty Million Kina.
The approved Bill is for the remaining months to close of business, come December.
The Autonomous Bougainville Government is expected to pass its 2023 budget soon after.
Although most of the grant was already used for budgeted programs during the course of this year, the current total was Four Hundred Seventy Three Million, Six Hundred and Fifty Three Thousand, Two Hundred Kina (K473, 653, 200.00)
This supplementary budget for the Autonomous Bougainville Government was finally approved and passed on Friday by the Bougainville House of Representatives after a lengthy debate.
