ANGAU Staff Return to Work

The 226 Health support workers at Lae’s ANGAU Hospital resumed normal duties yesterday following instructions issued by the PNG Health Support Association.

The support workers went on strike on Friday after a letter from the PNG Health Support Association in Port Moresby instructed them to walk off their jobs after their demands were not met.

The Angau Hospital Support Workers joined their colleagues in other provincial hospitals and went on a nationwide strike.

They are demanding the Department of Personnel Management to meet their log of claims which were put forward in September of last year.

Lae Branch Vice President, Lance Mathias, said ANGAU support staff returned to work on Monday following a response from the Department of Personnel Management.
