Air Niugini has advised travelers that disruptions to its services are unavoidable at this time due to a number of circumstances.
The airline says several aircrafts in its fleet are undergoing checks.
The current operations fleet does not have any redundant capacity to manage disruptions.
The Chief Executive Officer Wasanthra Kumarasiri said they are unavoidable.
Mr Kumarasiri further stated that safety is paramount to Air Niugini and it will not operate aircrafts that do not meet safety standards.
A number of passengers were stranded at Jacksons over the weekend as a result.
Air Niugini is currently sourcing a number of planes to increase redundant capacity to improve service reliability.
