Former Kavieng MP, Martin Aini, is giving it another shot at the Kavieng Open seat this year, under People’s National Congress (PNC) Party’s endorsement.
Aini who was once a member of Pangu Pati, is confident that he has joined the best party, PNC, who will continue to run the country well, if they form the next government.
“I have put my hands up and I am also ready to give you the best of my ability to improve this province and district,” Aini declared.
Aini said this at his campaign rally in Kavieng this week. In the last election in 2012, Aini had lost to current member, Ben Micah, and now looking to reclaim that seat.
Also present, supporting his party member was Party Leader and PM Peter O’Neill.
O’Neill who also addressed the crowd at the Cataret Oval expressed assurance in the Kavieng Open candidate.
“Yupla sapotim em. [Support him.] I can guarantee you that he will play a big role in the next government.”
“…the people of Kavieng need to elect an intelligent and balanced leader, and that is what you have in Martin Aini.
“Martin Aini is a leader who will work hard in his electorate and work in the interests of his people and the nation,” O’Neill said.
Aini is up against sitting MP, Ben Micah, and over 15 other candidates for Kavieng Open.
