The Port Moresby AFL saw some two big matches in the A-reserve division, predominantly filled with youth players and under 19s.
First up, the Central Bombers were big winners in their match against the gritty University Tigers, with the match going down to the wire. The bombers were able to make their kicks on goals count, winning the match 5-7-37, to tigers 3-4-22
The other A-reserve game also saw a strong defence team thrash the Taurama Suns in a tough encounter with a lot of end to end movement.
The Suns began the match with high intensity and used a lot of physicality, trying to rattle their opponents. However, defence, with their good attacking structure, placed the Suns under early pressure that continued right through to the end of the fourth quarter.
The boys from Murray Barracks secured a comprehensive 35-8 win over their Taurama Barracks rivals.
