Following an eventful season for Capital Rugby Union this year, the Monier Bava Park sits unattended to as it is the last venue along Bisini Parade to go under construction.
This year saw an eventful season and a successful one. Following the grand final 2014 season, the Monier Rugby Park will head into construction once the Monier Park renovation is signed.
While this remains the last venue to commence construction along the Bisini Parade, the Capital Rugby Union as well as the PNG Rugby Football Union will be forced to transfer to an alternative venue for the remainder of the year.
Not that much of a concern for the PNGRFU as the sporting code has a number of international matches come in the next few months.
The Palais have an important tournament to attend in Nusa in which they look to boost their current ranking, while the men’s fifteen team have an international test match in Singapore in September.
Still without a confirmed venue, the PNGRFU as well as the Capital Rugby Union have moved the annual rugby challenge where POM’s finest rugby players go up against the Daru Stingrays over to Daru.
Paul Joseph of Capital Rugby Union stresses that all teams must take into serious consideration the 2015 Port Moresby Pacific Games which will be held in the nation’s capital; most competitions will be on hold during that time.
