Under a new marketing arrangement, State Owned Enterprise Bemobile will now be known as Bemobile Vodafone.
This was announced by State Investment Minister Ben Micah, in Port Moresby this afternoon.
Bemobile will benefit from access to the international telecommunication company under the non-equity agreement.
The partnership announced this afternoon between Bemobile and British telecommunication company, Vodafone, will be for marking and branding purposes for a lifespan of 10 years.
The announcement was made in the presence of distinguished guests including Public Service Minister Dr. Puka Temu and Transport Minister Malakai Tabar, plus head of SOEs, members of SOE boards and business representatives.
Minister Micah announced that Bemobile will now be trading under a new name.
This partnership means Bemobile will have access to Vodafone’s buying power, technical expertise and access to all its resources with over 78 markets and 50 partner networks globally.
Minister Micah said the equity part of the arrangement is on the table for discussions later however this does not limit BeMobile’s access to Vodafone’s extensive market and network services.
Bemobile is delighted with the partnership which will enable it to provide a comprehensive range of products and services for Bemobile customers.
The international telecommunication company has already expressed that they are prepared to evaluate the option of equity directly in Bemobile.
