Government Interference in soccer

The Sport Ministry Justine Tkachencko clarified his intensions in appointing the Vice Minister to take care of Rugby League and Soccer in the country.

This follows comments by the President of the PNG Football Association David Chung that government interference in soccer may force the FIFA to ban PNG from its events.

Minister for Sport and Pacific Games Justine Tchachencko and his Vice Minister Labi Amaiu yesterday explained that the Government was only there to assist and not to take over.
