The first 20 per cent of the 2014 DSIP funds will be released to those districts, who submitted their 2013 acquittals starting this week.
Finance Minister James Marape, announced this today, while receiving acquittals from the Nipa Kutubu District, in the Southern Highlands Province.
And he described the report by the Nipa Kutubu District Administration, as the best he has received, so far compared to more than 30 acquittals his office has received.

After briefly sighting this report, he described the report as the best he has received so far. He has received reports up to 30 acquittals this year, and says this shows that members were putting the K10 million, into good use.
For those who have already submitted their acquittals, he said the 2014 DSIP funds, were ready to be released.
For the districts who haven’t received the 2013 DSIP funds in full, he promised to pay those outstanding DSIPs.
Member for Nipa Kutubu, Jeffery Komal, thanked the government for the K10 million, but thinks this is not enough, for some districts given the geographical terrains.
Mr Marape said his department is working with the National Economic Fiscal Commission, to look into this issue, and will come up with a formula, to give special support to districts, who face such difficulties.
