Besta FC Wins

Besta FC secured a win on Saturday against Admiralty FC 2-1, at the Sir Ignatius Kilage stadium in Lae.

The win is a result of the intensive training the club has undergone by players over the last couple of weeks.

 

Most of the players who played are U19 players, preparing for an OFC Under 20 tournament, in May this year.

 

The Under 19 Besta FC maintained consistency in the National Soccer League competition, putting up a gallant showdown against a much bigger Admiralty side.

 

Fans and supporters were kept at on their feet as the development team led one nil into the half time break. Despite playing in the NSL, the main aim of Besta FC is on developing and preparing a competitive team for the country.

 

Playing against much bigger and more experienced players is a challenge for every player in the Besta Football Club as it builds up their stamina and confidence.

 

The Admiralty side was a challenging opponent for them; both teams displaying intense and entertaining football throughout the 90 minutes of the game.

 

Besta FC’s leading players Tommy Sammy, and Captain Peter Young, led the youthful team in both attack and defence, however Tommy was well-guarded by the opponents on his goal attempts.

 

Besta won the game at fulltime, with 2 goals to 1 to the Admiralty FC.
