Kicking off their in-house youth tournament, Public Servants Soccer Association will host the first all-girls tournament next week after getting the all clear from the PNG Football Association.
The tournament is staged to select a side for the Youth Championships to be held later this year.
Following the commencement of their season and the successful staging of their youth tournament last year, Public Servants Soccer Association will stage the all-girls Soccer tournament at the IPA Ovals from Monday the 30th of June to the 4th of July.
The tournament coincides with the term-2 school holidays.
Along with the increase of teams registered in this year’s competition, there is also an increase in young women taking up the code, indicating a rise in the level of girls and women’s participation in sports.
The tournament is an avenue to expose an abundant pool of soccer talent in the capital.
Kappi-Nato appeals to parents to support their daughters and the development of women in sports.
