Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Kerenga Kua, is urging all Provincial and District Administrators, to submit data of all village court officials in respective provinces.
Minister Kua made the call following the slowness of data collection by 16 provinces, to be entered into the government’s payroll system.
Recently Jiwaka, NCD, New Ireland, Southern Highlands and Western Highlands, submitted their data and it is all now before the Department of Personnel Management and Finance, to enter into the payroll system for configuration whilst East and West New Britain, Manus, Northern, Eastern Highlands and Hela, are expected to be completed in 2 weeks’ time.
Justice Minister Kerenga Kua said the allowance will have a profound impact on the morale of village court officials. He is now calling on LLG presidents and ward councilors, to work with district and provincial administrators to collect relevant data without further delay.
Only Ialibu-Pangia in the Southern Highlands Province and Sinasina – Yongomugl in Chimbu, have completed their information and court officials will soon receive their pay through individual accounts.
