Games Organizing Committee Visits Evangelical Church

The Evangelical Brotherhood Church in Port Moresby welcomed special guests as members of the 2015 Pacific Games organizing committee, attended the churches 60th anniversary celebrations.

The Pacific Games Organizing committee will be using churches as partners to ensure that the spiritual needs that visiting athletes have, will also be accommodated.

Awareness program with communities also involves churches and gives the opportunity to work in partnership with them, to bring messages about the Games to the people.

With Christianity being the main religion throughout South Pacific Nations, the Organizing Committee will be looking to churches in the national capital to provide spiritual guidance.

Executive Manager for Marketing and Communication, Ken Siminji, expressed satisfaction with the involvement of churches and the valuable contribution they would have to visiting athletes in preparations for the games.

Senior church elder Danny Rarai expressed happiness at the recognition given and called it a blessing in itself.
