After successfully staging the Women’s Provincial National 7s Championship, a final 16 women were selected to make up the CPL PNG Palais team.
The team will go into training to participate in the upcoming Hong Kong 7s Tournament.
The weeks are counting down for the 16 members Train- on Squad for the PNG Women’s 7s Team, the CPL PNG Palais.
The squad will have to polish up areas that need improvement before they are Hong Kong bound.
Brisbane-based duo, Amelia Kuk and Marlugu Dixon were debutants in the squad.
Both were scouted from the Mad Gauns, the visiting Madang team.
Molina Michael, Raymond Morris, Barbara Sesel and Michelle John are expected to impress the new coach Ellenou Kunatuba.
Raymond Morris and Barbara Semel are both from the Highlands team and will be the playmakers while Michelle John is known in the Centre area.
Molina Michael will play halfback alongside former PNG Palais Skipper Kymlie Rapilla.
PNG Rep Cassandra Samson who plays for Harlequins club in the Capital Rugby Union will maintain the wing area with Alice Alois and Pauline Arazzi.
Twelve teams are expected to participate in the tournament which will be held on the 27th– 28th of March.
PNG is placed with Brazil and South Africa in pool B while Canada, Kazakhstan and Hong Kong in pool A.
France, China and Kenya in Pool C and Ireland will go up against Japan and Singapore in pool D.
