Morobe Christian Church Partnership Building

The Morobe Provincial Government has opened a new office complex, to facilitate its 2012 decision to give tithes to churches in the province.

Morobe Governor, Kelly Naru who is an elder in the Lutheran church says it is part of the National Governments goal, to support churches.

“Morobe Provincial Government took the first historical step to strengthen God’s work in our province among our people, principally focusing on church infrastructure,” he says.

The Morobe Government continues to support some churches in the Province. Today it opened this new building named after Senior Lutheran Pastor Yana Apo, a bible study master from the church.

The building will facilitate the Christian Church Partnership program it established in 2012.

Whilst speaking at the opening Morobe Governor, Kelly Naru, says that the CCP was done in line with National government priority to work with churches. Today marked a step further into the program.

The aim of the church partnership program is simple.  Empower church groups in the Province, by supporting women’s programs, youth activities and other major events.

Almost K6 million is budgeted yearly, in the Provincial budget, to do this.

The Provincial government gives to church organizations, with infrastructure and even small to medium agricultural ventures.

It’s understood that, as the church partnership program continues, more money will be allocated for the program.
