The Export Lager Rugby Sevens Team is set to head into the camp next week, under the influence of two highly experienced coaches, Fereti Verebula, and Freddie Mathies.
The extended training squad, consisting of 25 men, was selected based on their performances throughout the Capital Rugby Union sevens competition this month, in Port Moresby.
Both coaches, Verebula and Mathies, look to establish, and construct a successful team, in the lead up to the Commonwealth Games.
In the build up to the Commonwealth Games, newly-recruited coaches, Fereti Verebula, and Freddie Mathies, are enthusiastic in their drive towards establishing a strong and physical team.
Upon appointment, Coach Verebula, identified the significant decline in success for the national sevens team, to previous years. He is assertive in using new coaching techniques acquired outside of his past experiences.
The training squad, which currently consists of 25 players, was selected based on their impressive performances throughout the Capital Rugby Union sevens competition, held in Port Moresby, earlier this month.
Familiar faces, Billy Torea, Henry Liliket, Albert Levi, and Tony Ponda were few of the many, selected in the training squad.
The extended squad of 25 will commence training on site at Bomana, to confirm the final 12, next week.
