A government vehicle was impounded last night during a drunk patrol operations carried out by Gordons Based Police Officers in the Nation’s Capital.
The key of the 15 Seater bus registered to NCDC was confiscated by police officers and taken to the Gordons Police Station.
Drunk Patrol is a fortnightly police operation that involves over thirty to forty police officers patrolling selected communities.
It is conducted mostly on Friday nights to ensure residents are not disturbed by drunkards during night.
Last night’s operation saw the arrest of over twenty men and two women who were under the influence of alcohol.
The operation last night began at Maramuni Block at Five Mile where almost ten cartons of liquor sold by an illegal liquor dealer were confiscated.
The operations continued into Six Mile and later into Eight and Nine Mile areas. All suspects arrested last night will be processed, detained and charged according.
