Hunters Round 11

After a well-deserved break, the SP PNG Hunters are ready to continue their Intrust Super Cup campaign.

This round will see a new prop pairing of Esau Siune and Joe Bruno, following the standing down of Gonzela Urakusie, while Timothy Lomai sits out his last game of his two-match suspension.

We caught up with them at the Ela Murray School, as they’re worked through their training sessions with their coaching staff.

A final team has been named, seeing new prop pairing of Esau Siune and Joe Bruno to take on the Wynnum Manly Seagulls this weekend at the Kalabond Oval in Kokopo.

Gonzela Urakusie was stood down for an indefinite period until the club completes its internal investigation into an incident that occurred recently in Goroka.

David Loko was in training with the boys however he has not been considered for selection as he has been stood down and heavily fined for a breach in the club’s code of conduct.

Timothy Lomai will sit out this game, completing his two-match suspension period, and will be back against Norths Devils in round 12.

This opens the door for hard- running Willie Minoga to get his second game in the starting line-up. Minoga has come off the bench and stamped his mark against Burleigh Bears in round nine matches.

Youngster Stanton Albert has been named, including Edward Goma who has made his debut two weeks ago.
