Hot Spot Episode – 16, 2014

We head straight into Golf, leading up to the 2014 SP Export PNG Open with 15 budding golfers teeing off the Junior Pro Am under the watchful eyes of Junior Golf Coordinators Rosalina Taufa and Nelson Gabriel. 

Bank South Pacific (BSP) is also on board for another year to support the development and growth of Golf in the country.

 

The 2014 SP Export Open Competitor and PNG Junior Golf Coordinator, Nelson Gabriel, is hoping to finish in the top tier in this year’s PNG Open.

 

With many sporting codes rolling out development programs to strengthen sports, along with building young boys and girls for stronger and healthier minds, violence, either on or off the field, is unacceptable for any young gun.

 

Brandon Cannon delivered the message that it is OK to speak out against violence in sport and it all comes down to respecting the different people in sport.

 

Dominating the only Semi-Professional Soccer competition in the Country, the Telikom National Soccer League, Hekari United FC, have set the benchmark for Soccer and development of soccer in the country.

 

Leading his team for another finals run and taking over from Pita Bolatoga, Hekari Captain David Muta joins us for a chat.

 

It is tough being captain and having to lead by example but the rewards have been worth 9 titles already in the bag.
