Correctional Service institutions around the country will go through a major organisational restructure in 2015.
Correctional Service Commissioner, Michael Waipo describes the restructure, as a change and way forward.
This follows the review that will cater for new positional vacancies.
In a statement received by EM TV, Commissioner Michael Waipo called on all officers to consolidate their positions and bring the organisation forward. He says, most challenges CS is facing cannot and will not be solved during short term, but long-term changes can be planned properly and addressed in the future.
The vacancies are for 18 correctional institutions including its headquarters in NCD and the Correctional Training College.
Meanwhile the K1.6 billion cut from the national government’s expenditure is being prioritised for law and order in 2015 and will allow for better trained officers and new infrastructure.
Commissioner Waipo is embarking to see changes in the operations and mindset of CS personnel, and better attitudes towards work ethics in all staff around the country in 2015.
