Click Pacific Launch Clicktv

Click TV a Papua New Guinea broadcaster launched its Port Moresby services yesterday. A production company, Click TV has moved from productions to broadcasting and today’s launch is the first step to the company broadcasting throughout the Pacific Region.

Another addition to the television industry in PNG, Click Pacific officially launched their broadcasting platform and television channel PNG TV yesterday.

The launch is the first phase of the company’s broadcasting services in the country and throughout the Pacific region.

Although not nationally owned or part owned by Papua New Guinea, Managing Director, Richard Broadbridge says the company is currently preparing itself to include PNG shareholding and has been in negotiations with investors to ensure this happens.

Broadbridge also said viewers will see an improvement in local content with PNG TV and it will provide local producers and PNG citizens more opportunities to partner and change the community.

Viewers are given 3 free channels and 22 pay channels through the company’s HD set top boxes which are already on sale.

The company also announced a five year lease of a transponder on the satellite intelsat 19 to beam 30 channels of local, regional and international content to PNG and throughout the Pacific region including Australia and Hawaii from December 14.

Minister for Finance, James Marape officially launched the company’s broadcasting services yesterday.

Meanwhile Digicel PNG also launched their television news channel TVWan last night. It goes to air on the 17th of this month.
