Australian pop singer and actress Christine has landed in Papua New Guinea for the opening 2014 6th BSP PNG Games opening on Sunday.
Christina Anu, from the Torres Straight, could not hide her delight to be part of the games, when we caught up with her at the airport while she was transiting to Lae.
A very passionate and outspoken Anu expressed happiness at being a part of the nation’s biggest sporting event that stood for unity.
Anu gained popularity on her release ‘my Island home’ and she made it clear that she would perform this iconic song along with the games song.
Her first Album ‘Stylin up’ went platinum, and as spokeswoman for Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders, her role in the opening ceremony is equally important to her.
Meanwhile Prime Minister Peter O’Neill is expected to be at the opening ceremony. Tickets for the grand stand are K50 while the outer stand K10 per person.
