Man Escapes Death, When Car Rolls Over Twice

By Theckla Gunga – EM TV, Port Moresby

A man on hunt for his wife around Port Moresby almost lost his life in a car accident today.

The victim was John Poiye, he sustained minor injuries after his vehicle overturned two times at the Poreporena Freeway.

He was heading into Konebodu from Burns Peak when he lost control of his vehicle, hit the curb and rolled over twice before coming to a complete stop.

Luckily, his only injuries were a deep wound to his back from the broken windscreen glass, and minor cuts to his head and fingers.

But this is not the first time John has come face to face with NCD traffic police.

Constable Evara Kiovia and his team have already arrested and charged John numerous times for driving without a license, and operating unregistered vehicles.

Three possible charges that will be laid against John include drunk driving and operating an unregistered vehicle.

As of four o’clock this afternoon, there were no other cases of road accidents reported to NCD traffic police.

The same freeway has already claimed lives over the years.
