NCS HIDDEN VALLEY SECURES HACCP CERTIFICATION FOR CAMP CATERING OPERATIONS

Nationwide Catering Services (NCS) Hidden Valley (NCS-HV) has successfully achieved Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) certification from the National Institute of Standards and Industrial Technology (NISIT), marking a major compliance milestone for its catering operations.

The HACCP certification reaffirms NCS-HV’s commitment to achieving the highest standards of food safety, from sourcing, transportation and preparation through to the final product on the plate. This gives confidence to Harmony, its main client, and its contractors that the food served at the Hidden Valley mess meets the highest standards of preparation.

Present to witness the awarding of the certificate to NCS-HV, Camps and Travel Superintendent Jason Tom praised the team for a job well done in achieving HACCP certification and encouraged them to maintain this standard in the coming years.

“You’ve proven that this is achievable, and we now celebrate this achievement. Congratulations to you all, but the challenge now is to maintain this certification. So, how do we maintain this? How do we continue to rise to the challenge? We will now have to practise, follow and build it into our culture make it a part of how we do things,” Jason said.

NCS-HV Safety Representative Vanessa Abo emphasised that food safety is a shared responsibility for NCS-HV, Hidden Valley and all contractors.

“Food safety is a responsibility for all, not only at NCS, but for everyone. Food safety is treated as a foundational responsibility for all employees, from senior management down to individual kitchen team members,” Ms Abo said.

She added that the certification not only reinforces NCS-HV’s strict food-handling protocols but also enhances overall food safety.

“While NCS-HV has historically maintained strict food-handling protocols, the recent implementation of HACCP standards has formalised these procedures. Reports to management show that the certification process has significantly strengthened staff awareness, ownership and overall operational consistency. Risk-control measures are now systematically applied at every stage of the supply chain,” she added.
