NEW IRELANDER FINISHES 6-WEEK INTENSIVE TRAINING IN AUSTRALIA

New Irelander Steven Tommy Completes Six Weeks of Intense Training in Australia New Irelander Steven Tommy has completed six weeks of intense training across Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide in Australia, competing in two Australian-ranked tournaments.

Tommy finished second in the middleweight division at both the Brisbane Open Championships and the South Australian Championship Tournament in Adelaide.

In Brisbane, he cross-trained in Shotokan Karate under Australian Chief Instructor Shihan Jason Naylor, 7th Dan, of the Japan Karate Association, before competing in the Brisbane Open Taekwondo Championship where he secured second place in the middleweight division.

He then travelled to Melbourne to train intensively under Australian Chief Instructor Shihan Collin Underwood, 7th Dan, Zen Do Ryu Kyusho Jutsu, Dilman International, where he qualified and attained his 3rd Dan Black Belt.

Tommy spent his final four weeks in Adelaide undergoing intensive training in Extreme Taekwondo and competing at the South Australian Championship Tournament, where he again finished second in the middleweight division and qualified to attain his 3rd Dan Black Belt.

During his Australian tour, Tommy fought against the Australian National Taekwondo Champion, the International World No.2 middleweight champion and two-time state champions.
