COMPLETION OF FOUR BAILEY BRIDGES ON THE ENGA-SEPIK HIGHWAY ROAD PROJECT

The Wabag District Development Authority (WDDA) has already completed the construction of a total of four bailey bridges on the Enga-Sepik Highway road project, which was initially started as a pilot tract in 2018.
Wabag MP Dr Lino Tom confirmed the completion of the Imap Bridge clarifying that both abutments have been finally completed and the bridge launched accordingly.
The medical surgeon turned politician mentioned that backfilling has commenced with vehicles expected to start using this new bridge on the Enga Sepik Highway next week going forward.
Several remaining bridges will be constructed with the Lagaip Bridge joining the Maip-Mulitaka LLG of the Pogera-Paiela District and the Maramuni LLG of the Wabag District to recommence soon.
The second term MP said the construction of the Kamaup Bridge commencing next week.
“This team will now move to complete the Kamaup bridge starting next week. When that bridge gets completed in a month, they will progress past the Maramuni Staion to Siwi bridge,” Dr Lino said.
It is expected that a total of eight bridges will be constructed on the Enga section of the Enga – Sepik Highway road project before it reaches the Sepik Plains of Angoram District in East Sepik Province before the end of the year.
