MP CALLS ON PRESIDENTS TO SHOW LEADERSHIP

By Bradley Mariori
Wau Waria MP Marsh Narewec has called on the three elected LLG residents in his district to demonstrate their leadership caliber, dignity, and pride.
In his congratulatory message to Wau Urban Mayor Gideon Kipusing, Wau Rural President John Aki, and Waria Rural President Maita Tokubo, Narewec urged the leaders not to let the people lose trust in them.
“Ensure you hold regular Assembly meetings—that is the foundation of good governance and leadership,” Narewec said.
“Focus on a few priorities. There is much to do and many needs, but you will find you have limited or no resources. Therefore, do not make promises you cannot keep.
“Priority one is to ensure your administration (public servants and office) is functional and can serve the people of your respective LLGs.”
Narewec said the leaders must remain in their respective LLGs, as that is what he expects of them and their ward councilors.
“Since you are the mandated heads of your LLGs, you will be sworn in as DDA Board members to support the DDA’s development priorities.
“This will happen either next month or early January.
“I also want to take this moment to send my best wishes to the former heads of LLGs, Hon. David Anjo, Hon. Dera Garaba, and Hon. Jason Ata.
“Thank you for your consistent and full cooperation in supporting DDA’s development priorities and aspirations at the Board level. We have achieved a lot together.”
