TEACHERS ARE NATION BUILDERS

A total of 278 teachers graduated with a Diploma in Primary Education from Simbu Teachers College recently.

The graduation ceremony was held under the theme, “Unity in Diversity – Quality Education for All.”

Guest of Honour Basil Murian reminded the graduands that academic success is only one part of their journey, and there are many challenges in their line of duty, whether in rural or urban areas where they serve.

He said teachers extend civilizations and are the frontliners of nation building.

“Without teachers, we wouldn’t have doctors, pilots, engineers, lawyers, and other professionals from different fields,” he added.

He further encouraged the newly graduated teachers to give their best whenever given the opportunity.

Chairman of the Simbu Teachers College Governing Council, Moses Kawage, also extended gratitude to the provincial national education body for their support.

He said strong partnerships over the past three years have helped the college advance in infrastructure development and academics.

He also thanked the Yongomugl community, where the college is located, for their hospitality and friendship in looking after the students and lecturers.
