NEW POLICE BOSS COMMANDS OPERATIONS IN GOROKA

Eastern Highlands Acting Provincial Police Commander Superintendent Mazuc Rubiang has addressed police personnel in Goroka with new directives earlier this week..

PPC Mazuc during a police parade issued strict instructions and command on police operations within Goroka town, pending the ongoing police investigations into the UOG incident.

He will be in charge in the absence of PPC Chief Superintendent John Kale who was suspended for 21 days following the recent UOG incident.

PPC Mazuc has instructed his men to do foot patrols that started right after the parade, effective enforcement of the drunk Patrol during the liquor ban period every Friday to Sunday in EHP.

He said this approach is to increase police presence and visibility at the community level to ensure that law and order is maintained within Goroka town and in the province.

However, part of the instructions include closing of all public markets in Goroka town by 5pm and a strict monitoring of discipline among members, including monthly return reports under the different police section operations at the Goroka Police station and outstations in the province.
