COUNTING IN PROGRESS FOR LLGS IN EASTERN HIGHLANDS PROVINCE

Polling has been concluded in all 287 wards in the Eastern Highlands Province with counting in progress.

Eastern Highlands Election Manager Steven Gore Kaupa said a total of 657 polling teams that were sent out throughout the province have done their jobs and are now into counting since last weekend.

He said the remote LLGs of Eastern Highlands Province Marawaka in Obura Wonenara district and the Mt Micheal and Unavi LLGs is the first in the Eastern Highlands Province to begin counting.

Kaupa said counting is scheduled to be completed in five days. This will be in time for the official declarations to be made by the Election Manager once the respective assistant returning officers have completed the counting.

He said the deadline of the return of writs for EHP is the 14th of November and he is appealing to candidates and their supporters to raise any grievances that they may have through the AROs in appropriate means.

He further, commended the Electoral Commission team for their efforts including the people for the successful completion of the polling process in Eastern Highlands Province this 2025 LLG Elections.
