EHPHA APPOINTS WARIMA AS NEW CEO

The Eastern Highlands Provincial Health Authority has appointed Dr Pomuso Warima as the the permanent Eastern Highlands Provincial Health Authority Chief Executive Officer.

Eastern Highlands Provincial Health Authority Board Chairman Chris Kopyoto, stated that the appointment of Dr. Warima is based on merit, and he has met all the requirements to fill the vacant position.

Kopyoto urged the board members and staff to respect and work in cooperation with Dr Warima to deliver the vital health services to the people of Eastern Highlands Province.

He said health is a very critical organization that is meant to serve the people and the chain of command must be upheld to achieve effective health plans.

Kopyoto also recognized the leadership provided by the outgoing CEO over the past years in serving the organization.

Eastern Highlands Governor Simon Sia congratulated Dr. Warima on his appointment stating such position comes with responsibility and that is to serve a population.

He also challenged the new CEO to set the necessary mechanisms in place to deliver effective health services to the communities in Eastern Highlands Province and assured the Eastern Highlands Provincial government’s (EHPG) full support.

Dr. Warima acknowledged the appointment and thanked the Board for placing their confidence in him.

Dr Warima has been in the medical field for over 10 years and assured the board that he would continue from where the previous administration left off.

He thanked the Eastern Highlands Provincial Government and administration for the support provided during the impasse and assured that he will collaborate to improve health services in the province and make sure that people receive better healthcare.
