OVER 2,000 STUDENTS IN WESTERN PROVINCE SIT FOR NATIONAL EXAMINATIONS

A total of 234 Grade 10 students from Kiunga Secondary School in North Fly District of Western Province sat for the Mathematics and Personal Development exam papers as the National Examinations for this academic year commenced today, October 6th, 2025.
Students will continue to sit for other subjects covered in Lower Secondary Studies throughout this week.
As the Grade 10 students from Kiunga Secondary School complete their exams on Friday this week, a total of 134 Grade 12 students will sit for their exams on Monday, October 13th, 2025.
Meanwhile, a total of 2,112 students from five high schools and six secondary schools within Western Province will be sitting for their National Examinations this week and next week.
The five high schools are Morehead High School, Balimo Day High School, Aiambak High School, Ningerum High School, and Olsobip High School. The six secondary schools are Daru Secondary, Awaba Secondary, Mougulu Secondary, St Gabriel Technical Secondary, Kiunga Secondary, and Tabubil Secondary.
Of the 2,112 students, 1,537 are Grade 10 students and 575 are Grade 12 students.
Western Provincial Education Advisor Mr. Charlie Buia confirmed that all exam materials for the Grade 10 students have been received on time and schools are conducting the exams.
He mentioned that exam materials for the Grade 12 students will be received this week, saying all schools in Western Province are set for exams, including the FODE programs conducted at various schools within the province.
He thanked all development partners, including Ok Tedi, Sustainable Development Program, Ok Tedi Development Foundation, Kokoda Track Foundation, and others for their continued support of education to ensure the smooth delivery of exams in the province.
