YOTO BACKS NINGRUM

Western Province Governor Taboi Awi Yoto has reaffirmed his commitment to the people by supporting Ningrum’s 50th Independence Celebration with a K25,000 cash donation.
The funds were officially handed over to the Ningrum LLG President, who gratefully accepted them on behalf of the community.
Speaking at the event, Governor Yoto reminded the crowd that the 50th Independence Anniversary marks a golden jubilee, celebrating 50 years since Papua New Guinea became an independent nation.
He emphasized that PNG’s peaceful journey to independence is a blessing, and that this freedom gives citizens the power to make choices for themselves and their communities.
Governor Yoto urged the people of Ningrum to use that freedom wisely by working together in unity, peace, and cooperation. He encouraged them to honor their culture and traditions while also embracing development that will shape a better future.
“Independence is not just a word,” he said. “It’s a responsibility for each of us to help build a stronger nation.”
His message of pride, unity, and progress was met with loud cheers from the crowd.
The Governor’s presence and contribution reflected the Western Provincial Government’s dedication to involving every LLG in this historic celebration.
This visit marked the start of Governor Yoto’s tour for the 50th Anniversary. After Ningrum, he continued on to Kiunga and will later visit Middle Fly, Delta Fly, and South Fly districts.
The K25,000 contribution in Ningrum adds to funds he previously donated for Golden Jubilee celebrations throughout the province.
