TELIKOM BOARD APPOINTED AND TEPI REAPPOINTED AS CEO

Board of directors for Telikom Limited were sworn in on Thursday at the Telikom headquarters in Port Moresby.
The board consists of Cedric Rondoke as chairman, Paul Morgan as deputy chairman while while Lata Milner, Godfrey Seeto, Naime O’Ome and Janet Sios were all sworn in as directors.
Gideon Karali was also retained as a director, however wasn’t sworn in as he is away overseas. Mr Karali will be sworn in once he returns to the country.
Chief executive officer Amos Tepi was also reappointed as CEO which will see him serve for another 3-year term.
Mr Tepi thanked the Government and the board for having confidence in him once more.
“I thank Marape-Roso Government for reappointing me as chief executive officer for Telikom Group for second term,” Mr Tepi said.
“It was in the wisdom of the Government that there is still unfinished business, there is more work to be done and myself and the board, we are happy to continue on that.
“I also thank the Government for the appointment of a new director (Janet Sios) and also the existing directors who were reappointed.
Mr Tepi further revealed new initiatives the telecommunication company is looking at implementing going forward.
“The country is going into 50th anniversary and we at Telikom are working on a number of initiatives in the pipeline and this will change the way we do business,” Mr Tepi said.
“The normal traditional way of doing business is over, we are looking at providing telecommunications solutions for businesses, government departments and the communities.
“One of our new products that is already on the market is ‘E SIM’. This will now enable our customers to be connected when they travel out of the country and it is accessible across 150 countries so there is a lot to look forward to.”
Chairman Cedric Rondoke said the global telecommunication industry has evolved but Telikom Limited has high probability of success with the current board and the management.
Meanwhile Mrs Janet Sios, who is the newest board member, said she brings 30-year experience in the field of accounting as well in business. She said she is looking to contribute to Telikom in her capacity as a director.
