DEPUTY OPPOSITION LEADER CONDEMNS INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR OF UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

The Deputy Opposition Leader and North Fly Open member, James Donald (pictured) is disappointed by the inappropriate actions of a mob of University of Technology students against a lone female inside the university premises.
A mob of students were captured harassing a mentally ill young woman and the video was since making headline on social media. The University has also issued a statement announcing that the investigation is already underway regarding the matter.
However, Donald expressed disappointment in the way the students behaved calling it “animalistic.”
“We strongly condemn the shocking actions and animalistic behavior exhibited by male University of Technology students towards a female individual who entered the male dormitory premises,” Donald said.
He added that such conduct reveals a disturbing lack of maturity and respect for women, which is unacceptable at a university level.
“Educational institutions should be an environment of growth, respect, and dignity for all individuals, regardless of gender,” he said.
He openly rebuked these unruly conducts saying, such behaviors does not align with the values of civility that our nation stands for.
“We urge other universities, learning institutions, and colleges to stand firm against such behavior and to promote a culture of respect and equality,”
“Let us ensure that our campuses foster safe and inclusive environments for all students, rejecting any actions that undermine these principles,” he said.
