STUDENTS ATTEND ANNUAL CATHOLIC STUDENT AND LEADERSHIP TRANSFORMATION RETREAT

Over 300 Tambul-Nebilyer students have gathered at this year’s Catholic Student retreat and leadership transformation to strengthen their faith and receive guidance to be better citizens.

The four-days retreat hosted at the St Michael’s Sinsibai Parish in Upper Nebilyer was focused on leadership to encourage students to put their family, education and Christian faith first in their lives journey.

The students’ representatives from Kiripia and Tambu Secondary Schools and Mt Giluwe, Gia Kogul and Upper Nebilyer High Schools were all present at the event.

Fr. Michael Anis encouraged the students to invest in their faith, family and education to lead their communities and the nation in the right direction.

“You are the salt of the earth and the light unto the world,” Fr. Michael emphasized.

With the increase in lawlessness and confusion amongst young generation Fr. Michael encouraged the students to share the love of Christ and confirm their faith throughout their lives as they journey into the future. He expressed this not only to the students that attended the event but also to individuals in and around PNG to also do the same for the good of the nation.

The event was concluded with the handover takeover of the Catholic School Spiritual Leadership baton from Max Paraka to Manuel Waima in the final mass witnessed by Fr. Michael Anis.

The event will be hosted next year in Kiripia Paris under new leadership.
