DLPP ROLLS OUT E-LANDS AWARENESS CAMPAIGN IN EAST NEW BRITAIN CULTURAL FESTIVAL

The Department of Lands and Physical recently joined the National Warwagira and Mask Festival at Goerge Brown Secondary School, in the Gazelle District of East New Britain Province, from the 9th to 13th July 2025, to roll out public awareness on its flagship digital platform, eLands, aimed at transforming land administration across the country.

Amid the dazzling singsing performances and dances, the Department of Lands and Physical Planning information booth offered demonstration on how lease holders can register on eLands, link their properties, and manage land rental payments online.

Secretary Benjamin Samson said, bringing eLands to the Warwagira and Mask Festival is about meeting people where they are.

“This festival celebrates the identity and heritage with land being central to both, and eLands empower landowners, property owners and lease holders to manage their land and property with transparency and ease.” Mr. Samson said.

Secretary Benjamin Samson further emphasized the platform’s role in modernizing land administration.

“The eLands system allows users to view and pay land rental bills online, update contact and billing information, submit property – related inquiries, and access land services any time, anywhere.

“I urged all leaseholders and members of the public to register an eLands account and take ownership of their land records. This is how we build trust and accountability in land management.

The teams’ presences at the festival were part of DLPP’s broader outreach strategy, following successful campaign at events like the Haus Ples Expo earlier this month.

Plans are underway to extend e-Lands awareness to other provinces later this year.
