NEW PUBLIC SOLICITOR OFFICE BRANCH FOR JIWAKA

Hundreds of people turned up yesterday to witness the official commissioning of the Jiwaka province public solicitor office.
Jiwaka provincial administrator, Rick Kogen said they are fortunate to have such vital legal services and opportunity that will benefit Jiwaka province and the highlands region.
Kogen said the Jiwaka provincial government and administration will provide the required support to ensure the work of public solicitor services provided are effective and free.
He also urged the people of Jiwaka to make use of the legal aid services that will be provided by the office.
Jiwaka provincial police commander chief inspector Laimo Aisi was impressed with the setup of the office and said it will make police work easier to enforce the laws when it comes to police bail system among others.
“This facility will make our work more more efficiently and effectively for the police bail system and other areas of police work.” said PPC. Aisi.
Moreover, public solicitor Lesley Mamu, thanked the Jiwaka provincial government and administration for the support towards the office of public solicitor to ensure legal aid services are established in the province
He said partnership is the way forward to collectively create a conducive environment for law and justice to thrive.
