The Wabag-Laiagam road link is a pilot track constructed by the Wabag District Development Authority (WDDA) connecting Sopas in the Mai Rural LLG of Wabag District with Yokonda in the Pilikambi LLG of the Lagaip District.
Wabag MP Dr.Lino Tom is following the progress of the construction of this pilot track which initially began three years ago.
“The most difficult part of this pilot track-road has been completed and that is the lowering of the Yulimandak peak,” MP Lino said.
The second term MP announced that graveling will recommence as soon as possible which will take less than a month.
He mentioned that the WDDA will then construct and expand the Lagaip District section of the road from Yokonda to Wanepop where Lagaip Open MP Aimos Akem has initially agreed to provide counterpart funding accordingly.
The Sopas (Wabag) – Yokonda (Lagaip) Road Link will be a short cut route that will take less than 30 minutes to reach Laiagam from Wabag.
