The legal training Institute graduates 78 Trainees with flying colors, half of the trainees received certificates of excellence with special awards under different categories.
The Graduating Counsels were urged by the Country’s Chief Justice Sir Gibss Salika to be law abiding citizens and were reminded that the rule of law and democracy is reliant on them as the independent functioning body. Sir Gibbs challenged them to be good lawyers and abide by the rule of law as this is much expected of them and to be moral citizens.
This sentiment was also shared by the minister for Justice & Attorney General Pila Niningi when addressing the graduates as the guest speaker.
Minister Niningi acknowledged the efforts invested and challenged them to uphold the rule of law and reminded them of their responsibility to maintain law and order in the country.
With the theme resilience, the17th graduation ceremony was witnessed by some of the high profile people from the Legal Fraternity which included the, Solicitor General Tauvasa Tanuvasa.
These graduates will be admitted to the bar at the National Court House on Tuesday 31st of January to finally become permitted practicing lawyers.
