AROB’s South Nasioi Constituency Launch Independence-Ready Mission

The South Nasioi (NASI-OI) Constituency of Central Bougainville has launched its independence-ready mission last Thursday.

As Part of a motion passed in the House of Representatives last year, the independence-ready mission is aimed at promoting economic development as Bougainville moves forward post-referendum.

Constituencies in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville are tasked to be independence-ready as Bougainville continues its journey post referendum.

And the South Nasioi Constituency in Central Bougainville now becomes the 3rd constituency to implement this mission.

The launching was also significant for the Roreinang community as it was here during the crisis where the Roreinang Coup was staged. This was a major turning point for the Bougainville Revolutionary Army’s fight for independence.

The initiative calls upon every constituency member to provide the leadership in ensuring their constituencies are independent through the progress of socio-economic development.

AROB’s President Toroama says a greater responsibility is now on youths, veterans, churches and the social sector to achieve the outcome for independence ready.

The president added Bougainville’s Independence must be home grown for it to encourage every Bougainvillean to take ownership.

27 constituencies are yet to implement the independence ready mission.
