PNG’s first online market space launched

Emstret E-Space today launched the country’s first ever vendor based online market place called ShopSmart PNG.

This online platform allows SMEs’ and small businesses to showcase and market their products on the internet, and also allows vendors to increase their customer base by expanding their reach locally and internationally.

Chief Executive Officer of ShopSmart PNG, Vani Nades, said the aim of this platform was to ensure the world gets to see some of the amazing products produced within PNG.

Nades expressed hope for the platform to be fully utilized by Papua New Guineans in order to experience the opportunities that open up through this platform.

ShopSmart PNG has several different payment pathways, this allows customers to choose what is most convenient for them.

The platform is now live with internet payment for Kina bank and Bank South Pacific and is ready for use by vendors and customers..

Going forward, ShopSmart plans to launch a solution for cashless transactions for vendors to decrease the amount of risks SMEs’ face when dealing with cash on hand.

Also acknowledging the need for SMEs’ to transport their products off to other centres, ShopSmart PNG has engaged in cargo shipment and airfreight serviced by PNG Air Limited, TNT Air Cargo and DHL.

Minister for Communication and Technology, Timothy Masiu, who officially launched the ShopSmart PNG platform said the Government wants to see more innovations like this in order to contribute to a smart, wise and fair society.

ShopSmart PNG is a game changer in the area of E-Commerce and Digital Innovation.
